How to Add Custom Domain in Blogger?

Adding a custom domain to your Blogger (BlogSpot) blog involves a few steps. Here's a guide on how to add a custom domain in Blogger:

1. Purchase a domain: Firstly, you need to purchase a domain from a domain registrar of your choice. There are numerous domain registrars available, such as GoDaddy, Namecheap, or Google Domains. Follow the registrar's instructions to complete the domain purchase.

2. Configure DNS settings: Once you have purchased the domain, you'll need to configure the DNS settings to connect your domain to your Blogger blog. Login to your domain registrar's website and locate the DNS settings or domain management section. Look for options like "DNS Management" or "DNS Records."

3. Create a CNAME record: In the DNS settings, create a new CNAME record (Canonical Name). You'll typically see two fields to fill in:

- Host: Enter the subdomain you want to use, such as "www" or "blog."

- Points to (Value/Target/Destination): Enter "ghs.google.com" as the value.

Save the CNAME record.

4. Create four A records: In the same DNS settings, create four separate A records (IPv4 addresses). Each record should have the same host but different destination values. Enter the following information:

- Host: Leave it empty or enter "@."

- Points to/Value/Destination: Enter each of the following IP addresses one by one:

    - 216.239.32.21

    - 216.239.34.21

    - 216.239.36.21

    - 216.239.38.21

Save the A records.

5. Configure Blogger settings: Now, go to your Blogger dashboard and navigate to the "Settings" section of your blog.

6. Basic settings: Under the "Basic" tab, find the "Publishing" section. Click on the "+ Setup a third-party URL for your blog" link.

7. Enter your custom domain: Enter your purchased custom domain in the designated field (e.g., www.example.com) and click on the "Save" button.

8. Verify domain ownership: To ensure you own the domain, Blogger will prompt you to verify domain ownership. Select the "Add a CNAME record" option.

9. Retrieve verification details: Blogger will provide you with a unique CNAME record that you need to add to your DNS settings.

10. Add CNAME record: Return to your domain registrar's website and locate the DNS settings or domain management section again. Create a new CNAME record with the details provided by Blogger.

11. Save changes: Save the DNS settings in your domain registrar's control panel.

12. Verify domain ownership: Go back to the Blogger dashboard and click on the "Verify" button to verify domain ownership. It may take some time for the changes to propagate and for verification to complete. Be patient and check periodically until the domain ownership is verified.

Once the verification is successful, your custom domain will be connected to your Blogger blog. It may take up to 24 hours for the changes to fully propagate across the internet, so don't be alarmed if your custom domain doesn't work immediately.
